Heater tubes, bakerlight - removing

Just two bolts held these tubes in place. Whilst there was no rust one of them had a bit missing.

Fan housing - new

First I cleaned up the generator.

And reassembled the components that attach to it.

After my failed attempts to repair the original fan housing I found one on ebay for a tenner!

Enigine numbers

Tinware - refitting

Time to put the tinware back on.

First the little section at the bottom.

The stainless steel screws for the tinware.

This rear piece slots in and is secured by other bits that have captive nuts.

These side pieces slot over the cylinders and have two bolts that are covered by the spark plug/ ht leads.

These bottom bits attach at the back. This one should be the other way around!

Thats better. The two bolts secure the bit that covers the top of the cylinder and now correctly hold the bottom bit that wraps underneath.

Like this.

Preparing the body work

The first task was to remove the sealant covering the welds. After coming back from sand blasting I thought it would be removed?

The heater channels would be the first thing to replace.

I used a wire brush around the welds to get them ready for cutting.
